What CAN you do?

Manic Monday Message: Turn the To-Do List into the Can-Do List

On another Manic Monday, I want you to think about the difference between the To-Do List and the Can-Do List.

text only graphic.
I wish I knew who posted this to give them credit…I have no clue. I just took a screen shot.

Sometimes, the To Do List is not reasonable or manageable, given the energy and free time you have.  You need to be your own personal assistant.  I’m picturing the tough secretary who stands outside the door, letting people know that the Boss cannot be bothered.  Maybe some of you actually have a real live personal assistant…if you do, please reach out and let me know how you managed that!

Most of us will need to do it for ourselves.  Block time on your calendar to exercise, get a quick sweep of the house done, return the library books, or (shh) grab a nap…do whatever you can to make life a little more manageable.

Then, as you look at the To Do List, just pick out the things you can do.  Anything you do is better than nothing.  And…remember that asking for help is a fine way to cut down on the length of that list…there are people in your life who want to help you or are looking for a job to earn a little extra money.  Do whatever you can to keep yourself feeling like you’re managing the chaos. If you have a brilliant life hack that might help other families save time and effort, comment here or on the post so we can all benefit.
