USA! USA! USA!

outdoor fireplace with an American flag, hurricane lamps, a blue flower pot with red flowers

Recently, our older son Will graduated from college.  His commencement ceremonies began with the Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem. This took me right back to Preschool and Kindergarten when my boys first learned these fundamental building blocks of national pride.

Stay tuned for the attempted nose pick at the end…wink.

As with all my goals for Michael, perfection was never the aim.  Participation is the key.  Even if he couldn’t speak any of the pledge or sing any of the national anthem, I would help him to put his hand on his heart and face the flag.

In divisive times, we sometimes forget that we are one nation, under God, indivisible.  Let’s help our kids be proud to be American and teach them to advocate for liberty and justice for all.
