Unbelievable

If your child brings this journal entry to class, there will be kids who share that they aren’t allowed to play outside in the rain.

Parenting has become so protective, that many kids don’t spend much time playing outside at all. These same kids will likely have access to technology at a young age because it is less likely to result in physical injury.
The problem with this parenting approach is that both choices harm the mental health of the kids.
Down with Instagram and up with playing in the rain!!!

She holds a BA in Psychology from Colgate University and a Masters of Psychology in Education from Columbia Teacher’s College.
