T’was The Night Before Christmas

Our annual Christmas Eve tradition was to head over to my step-sister’s house for appetizers and then head home to try to get the kids settled down to bed. Here’s the original Christmas Eve post.
Cocktail Hour
Going to family events for cocktail hour is a great way to catch up and see everyone without needing to get your special needs kid through a sit-down dinner. On Christmas Eve, the kids got some presents from their aunts, uncles and cousins. I packed Mikey a few toys that I knew would keep him occupied and everyone had a great time.

This Christmas train was built and re-built several years in a row. I am no Scrooge, but my advice would be to re-use and re-use and re-use until your kid gets bored with it. There will be enough other needs for your money, so once you’ve bought a toy…get some mileage out of it.
