TV Traditions

Mikey holding the Great Pumpkin DVD, a scene from the movie when snoopy is blowing a leaf in the air, Linus holding a sign: The Great Pumpkin is coming!
We put these DVDs in the box with the holiday decorations so we don't have to watch them year-round, but they're on hand for the holiday tradition.

When the outside world can sometimes be overwhelming, we can provide love and comfort to our special kiddos by creating traditions that are simple and quiet. Every holiday in our house has some TV traditions attached.  These traditions provide peaceful moments of predictability during seasons that often get filled with parties and candy, music and lights.  And Halloween adds costumes to the insanity!

journal entry from October 21, 2014. 'Before bed, we watched my favorite halloween DVD.' "I got a rock, photo of the trick-or-treating scene", Snoopy dancing by the piano. "Snoopy dancing cracks me up!" " We watch this movie every year." photo of the cover of the DVD: Charlie Brown, snoopy and Linus in the pumpkin patch.
One of my favorite Halloween traditions!

So, every year around Halloween, we watch “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.”  It is a wonderful Halloween show for young kids because it is not scary. We are happy to share this Mauro Family TV Tradition with you today.
