The Treehouse

dot art stylized photo of Will reading with Mikey in the swing set treehouse.

Mikey loved to sit in the ‘treehouse’ of our swing set. He would sit up there and watch the dogs play in the yard, listen to the wind chimes and just relax in nature. I often brought books outside for him because I think reading outside is one of the great joys of life! Okay, also because he was out there A LOT and I believe daily reading is a must for everyone who is able.

Mikey smiling at Will holding the book and pointing to something on the page, both sitting cross-legged in the swing set treehouse.

Yes, friends. That is a SCUBA tank water bottle…because of course Will would have an ocean-themed water bottle.

Mikey loved reading with Will! You can tell from the giant smile on his face, but in case you were wondering, he wrote it down for posterity.

journal page, Mikey’s handwriting. “i loved reading with Will.'

A Quick Aside

That swing set was a gift from my mom to our family when we moved into our first house. It moved with us to this house and the boys loved it for years. She was so proud of how happy it made them. I am sure this was one of her favorite swing set memories: her two boys happily reading together in their treehouse.
