The Supermoon Eclipse

Mikey’s science teacher in 5th grade did a unit on the phases of the moon. How perfect that in the Fall of his 5th grade year, we just happened to get a supermoon eclipse?!?

So, of course, we let Mikey stay up to see it. We tried to capture some pictures, and our buddy wrote about it in his journal.
One Idea
If your child’s journal entry is related to a portion of the curriculum, send an e-mail to the teacher of that subject and let him or her know. They’ll want to connect with your child over their journal. It also helps show the teachers that your child is capable of being involved, even if some (or almost all) of the curriculum is beyond them academically. The teachers want ALL the kids to be involved in whatever way they can, so help them to see your child’s abilities from home whenever possible.
