The Parade!

In Mikey's view, The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is #1!

We flash forward this Friday to show you Mikey’s Thanksgiving plans, although these were not very different from year to year.

Mikey enjoying the parade last year. I feel confident I’ll get a similar photo this year.

Every year, Mikey spends Thanksgiving morning watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on TV. If he ever got to see it in real life, his mind would be blown!  He watches the bands, the musical performances, and the floats, but he LOVES the balloons!! Mickey Mouse, Blue, Spider Man, Curious George, Clifford…this is Mikey’s heaven!

This is BY FAR his most favorite part of the holiday.  Sometimes he even naps through the Thanksgiving meal. He doesn’t like pie, but he never misses the parade!

If there is a take-away here for other families, maybe it is this.  Holidays are for celebrating with your family and friends.  Leaving room for everyone to celebrate in the way that feels good for them seems like a great way to honor the spirit of the day.  Also, many people napping means more pie for me.
