The Lego Store
Both of my boys LOVED Lego! When a Lego Store opened in our local mall, it became a destination for us. Of course, they liked building Lego sets, but the Lego Store let them browse all the super huge (read way too expensive) sets that we didn’t have at home. Plus, the displays are so cool, it is like visiting a kids’ museum. It was an event!
In this entry, I added a sentence about the things that Michael saw because I wasn’t sure they were clear in the photos, and I didn’t think he’d be able to spontaneously answer his classmates’ questions the next day unless I gave him the written cues.

If your child wants to buy everything in the store and you can’t afford that (because who could?), don’t even open the door. In that case, I would call the Lego Store a trigger for your child. You might even consider looking at the map of the mall so that you do not pass by whatever store may cause a problem. By thinking ahead, you may save yourself a headache.
