The Lego Movie

Despite possibly the worst song in movie history, this movie actually has some great messages for kids.

An after-school movie? Wow! I must be the best mom ever!!! Or, I may be an evil genius.

I need to make a confession. I am a movie theater snack sneak.  In the winter, I would put snacks in my purse and in everyone’s coats and we’d bring in A TON of food. I’d still let the kids get one or two things at the concession stand, like an Icee or a popcorn, but we definitely broke the ‘NO OUTSIDE FOOD’ rule back in the day!

Happy faces for a special weekday treat.

Dave was probably traveling for work.   I packed enough food so that our trip to the movies could be dinner too. Think sandwiches, go-gurt tubes, cheese sticks, zip lock baggies with grapes or baby carrots…you get it.  We went way beyond movie snacks.  We basically ate dinner while we watched the movie. Then, when we got home, we could just do homework and baths/showers and be ready for bed.

Sometimes, you can take the easy way out and still be the fun mom.  On this particular night, ‘everything was awesome.’  I had to do it!

Side Note:

Please google the cast of the Lego Movie (2014).  It is a star-studded extravaganza!  Seriously, you will be amazed.
