Thanksgiving 5K

Our town hosts a 5K every Thanksgiving. 2015 was the first year Will and I ran it together. It’s a tradition we’ve kept, and we’re looking forward to it again this year.

Although Mikey didn’t have a journal entry about this one, I wanted to make sure I shared some of the special traditions we have with Will. The siblings of special needs kids do a lot to help the family. They tolerate a lot. They go without a lot.
This is a Treat?
You may think, if you want to ‘reward’ me with a 5K, you can keep your ‘rewards.’ Fair enough. It’s not the running part that matters…more doing something special and fun with your typical kid to show you prioritize them too.
I’m thankful for Will – and his willingness to run a road race with me. Wink.
