Take A Beat

sunset photo with the sentence, 'Take a beat.'
Take a moment to center yourself and decide how you will respond.

This time of year, in particular, things move fast.  Back to School is a chaotic time, made worse by everyone’s anxiety about the upcoming year.  My Saturday Suggestion is to take a beat.  When your child is pushing every button you’ve got, and you’re about to come unglued. Take a moment.

quote from viktor E Frankl: 'Between stimulus and response there is space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and freedom.'
Take the space to make the best choice for your family in the moment.

Use that moment to make a calmer decision about how you will respond. Your response can fuel the fire of their anxiety or you can choose to be the one to take the high road.  Be the calming influence at this stressful time of year.
