Smoothies

Our local grocery store got a smoothie bar! It was the best. Mikey chose a strawberry banana smoothie. I’d much prefer he get blended fruit as a treat than ice cream. Sadly, this phase didn’t last too long, and Mikey was back to vanilla ice cream with rainbow sprinkles in no time.

The beauty of smoothies is that they are a consistent texture so if you can get your child to drink them, you might be able to blend in veggies and protein powder and use the smoothies to round out their diet. I drink green smoothies a lot, but I have yet to sell Mikey on a green one.

My advice would be to hide the green veggies in with the sweet fruits. Spinach hardly has any taste at all in a smoothie and organic spinach is reasonably priced when you buy it already frozen.
