September Hike

Here in Connecticut, September is a beautiful month to be outstide. It slowly begins to get cooler, but the sun is still shining brightly keeping us all in a great mood!

We asked friends if they wanted to meet up at a local park for a hike, some fishing and a picnic lunch. What a great day!
Anything your child already likes to do, could be made into a playdate if you include a pal with similar interests.
Safety Note
Know your environment. In Connecticut, September is a double threat month. We have ticks in all weather, except the deep freeze, and in the fall, we have the added gift of mosquitos who carry West Nile Virus. So, my friendly reminder for today is to use bug spray generously. When you get home, don’t forget to check for ticks and then have the kids shower to wash off all the bug spray…and probably a ton of dirt as well.
