September Beach Day

There’s a famous quote attributed to Yogi Bera about a very popular New York City hotspot. Legend has it, he said, “Nobody goes there anymore. It’s too crowded.”
This could be considered our family mantra. We could get it embroidered on a pillow.
In the NorthEast, the beach in August is pretty chaotic. It is crowded, busy, loud. There are different genres of music blaring from all directions, kids screaming with joy, babies crying and generally a great deal of sensory input.
Do we go to the beach in August? Sure. We just keep the trips short and we try to go early in the morning when it is not too crowded.

But the September beach day is really our jam. It’s much quieter. There is more room to move around, and Michael is much happier without people fully surrounding him. Truthfully, I’m with Mikey. I also like a little space to breathe.

Just check to make sure there are still lifeguards on duty, especially if your little one is super adventurous.
