Secret Garden

In his fourth grade year, Michael’s elementary school chose The Secret Garden for One Book, One School. It is a beautiful book that has two themes supremely relevant to our community. This classic book is both about being lonely and finding friends, and about being discouraged and finding magic in the world right outside our door.

As always, if our local community was creating an opportunity, we were opting Mikey in! I read the book to him, one chapter at a time. We did the activities that were appropriate for Michael, and we left out the rest.
