Say Less

stylized photo of me, mid-sentence with talk bubbles all around me ('so much talking, let's chit chat, talk, blah blah blah and talk and talk)

One of my biggest weaknesses as a parent is that I talk too much! Especially in challenging times, I think it is best to take a deep breath, gather your thoughts and speak concisely.  Get to the main point.

So, when I came across this graphic, I wanted to share it with you all.  I wish I had this as a reference when I was raising my own little ones.  These one-liners are gems!

Caveat

I still think it is important to talk to your kids a ton as their language is developing.  Labeling what you do matches words to actions.  Naming things in the environment gives your child the tools to ask for what they need.

But, when emotions are high, these one-liners can have a powerful impact over time.
