Same Stuff, Different Order

At a certain point, you have simplified your life as much as you can. There are certain things that will need to happen each day: laundry, dishes, getting the kids clean and keeping them fed. So, could doing things in a different order make your life easier?
Using our buddy as an example, Mikey is a messy eater. Remember this photo?

What if I was having Mikey take a bath before dinner? I’d essentially need to re-wash him before he went to bed. I’d be making extra work for myself.
In our house, I wanted my kids to get dirty – I am all for playing outside, sitting in the grass with the dog, puddle jumping, frog catching and fully enjoying the ice cream cake.
On the other hand, I’m trying to avoid making extra work. I only want to wash the sheets once a week and make sure the kids get a bath once a day.
So, Michael takes his shower right before bed and puts on his pajamas. Otherwise, when he is fresh out of the shower, he’ll decide it’s trampoline time and he’ll be a sweaty mess within minutes – as if the shower never even happened.
Think through your day. What isn’t working? Maybe, by reorganizing the tasks into a different order, you’ll save yourself some effort and then maybe your Mondays will be less manic. Wink.
