Raking Leaves

Unless you are incredibly particular about how your yard looks in the fall, your kids can help with raking the leaves. If you have kids who bolt out into traffic, keep their efforts focused on the backyard, inside the fence.

Everywhere that sells adult rakes this time of year also sells kid-size versions. They also have hand rakes or leaf scoops which the kids can hold and scoop up giant piles of leaves.
Pro Tips
1. Do this on a dry day…wet leaves are too heavy and too messy.
2. To get the kids extra tired, have them run their giant scoops of leaves over to a big tarp or directly into bags (which you will drag to the curbside later).
3. Use bug spray for this activity and then do a tick-check and showers or baths afterwards.
4. Take pictures! This will be so cute!!
