Quinoa

“keen-wa” photo of a yum emoji and the word yum framing a photo of Mikey smiling at his quinoa, chicken and carrots
Pronunciation added for the fifth graders who would be seeing Mikey’s Journal at school.

I know I always say you never know unless you try, but was I crazy trying to get my picky eater to try quinoa? What was I thinking?  This is likely the only journal entry that will feature quinoa and it only made the cut because the word itself makes Mikey laugh.

journal entry, January 26. We ate chicken and quinoa for dinner. I think that word is so funny! “keen-wa!” Three photos of Mikey smiling and eating at the kitchen counter.
We’re laughing and eating!

New Foods

As always, new foods are served in small (very small) portions alongside generous portions of familiar and preferred foods. In this case, chicken tenders and baby carrots.

Is the word quinoa stuck in your head?  You’re welcome. Wink.
