PYO Berries

stylized close-up of Mikey's hands holding his pint of strawberries with strawberry borders on the top and bottom.

Parents of typical kids may look at today’s journal entry and think, “no big deal.” BUT…there are parents of kids with severe sensory issues who are in awe of the idea of their child “loving the farm.”

journal entry: "I got to pick strawberries at the farm. I love the farm!" Photo of Mikey smiling in the field, holding a half-full container of strawberries.

Gentle exposure to nature won’t work for every kid, but if you can slowly desensitize your child to the elements, it will raise the curtain on a broad range of possible activities your child might enjoy.  It is well worth the effort if you think it might be within reach.
