Play Doh

Mikey grinning from ear to ear while playing with Play-Doh.
I think he had the candy factory and the ice cream factory going at the same time. It's no wonder he was happy!

We’re getting to shout out all of our favorite toys this month. First, Lego, now…play doh!!! If you can find something more satisfying than watching play doh squeeze out of the fun factory into little snakes, I’d really like to know what it is.  Play doh is so fun that even when the kids Mikey’s age had clearly outgrown it (like they would never consider being caught dead owning a play doh set), they’d enthusiastically and happily play along with Mikey.

Mikey's journal entry from 1/21/14. 'I played with my playdoh candy factory this morning.
My favorite thing about Play-Doh is the Homer Simpson spelling. Doh!! LOL

This candy factory set was possibly Mikey’s all-time favorite. This set had everything Mikey loved – a handle to turn, a window to watch the little balls twirling down through the candy factory and tons of play doh tools to create any kind of play doh candy he could imagine.  Note: not edible candy so if your child is still putting inappropriate things in his mouth, hold off on this toy.

So, ten years ago today, Mikey started off his day with the smell of fresh play doh…ahh. Do something soothing to start your day too…you deserve it.
