Pinwheels for Peace

The International Day of Peace is September 21. In preparation, all the students in Mikey’s elementary school made pinwheels and they were displayed outside on the lawn in the shape of a giant peace sign.
In your meetings, early on in the year, make it clear to the school team that you will help your child participate in any and every school activity that’s appropriate for them. Tell them you want them to err on the side of including your child rather than excluding them (unless it is a safety issue).
I am not sure if the other kids made their pinwheel for peace in class or if everyone brought them home, but Mikey made his at home with me.

I think it turned out great! And, more importantly, Mikey looked like he was very proud of his work. Mikey’s pinwheel was included in the giant art display outside the school! It was beautiful and my little buddy got to be a part of it!
Peace and love to all, with hope for inclusion, always.
