National Lazy Moms Day

On this day dedicated to celebrating the contribution of workers to the prosperity of the nation, I want the caretakers to know I see them. I appreciate the men and women who work tirelessly day in and day out. I know that many of you do this work in addition to your paying job and I want you to know that you are making the world a better place, sometimes one child at a time. Caring for your children is truly a labor of love.
On a sillier note, September 1 is National Lazy Moms Day. Ladies, I know not one of us has the luxury to truly be a lazy mom…but…I think we should take this national holiday as an inspiration.
I’m going to actively look for ways to be lazy today. Maybe I’ll break out the paper plates and save myself some sink time. Since it’s a day off from school, maybe we’ll spend some time relaxing in the backyard or put on a movie in the middle of the day. Maybe we can order pizza for dinner.
You get the idea…let’s be as lazy as we can today without making extra work for tomorrow. We’ll be lazy moms for the day.
National Lazy Moms Day…tell the others.
