National Bugs Bunny Day

Yup. There’s a day for everything! Happy National Bugs Bunny Day to all who celebrate.
My Thursday Thoughts are on old-time cartoons and the slapstick comedy they perfected. Very little of the comedy in Bugs Bunny and Looney Tunes requires high level language skills. Most of it can be enjoyed just from the visuals and the sound effects.
Concerns about Violence?
I know cartoons have violent scenes…the Road Runner is essentially short set-ups leading to immense violence, repeatedly. That said, I don’t know one kid who took that into real life and tried to drop an anvil on someone. It seems highly unlikely to cause a problem, in my view.
I’d say, embrace the fun of Bugs Bunny and any other old-time cartoons. I especially loved sharing cartoons from my childhood with my boys, and they have therefore seen every episode of Inspector Gadget. LOL
