Mimi Wuz Here

Mimi has 'tagged' our happiest memories with her spirit.

Mimi’s annual holiday visit was a hit! We played board games, watched Christmas movies, went for walks and we loved her up!

Mikey's journal entry from December 8 2013. My Mimi was here all weekend! So fun!
A great visit from Mimi!

Since, on this particular visit, I seem to have been more interested in the actual fun than photographing said fun, I’m taking you back to 2011 for another special Mimi memory.

An Adventure

Just, so much fun!

This adventure was to a local sculpture garden. In calling it local, I’m being pretty generous. We drove about an hour to get to this fun location. It was the Pepsi Corporate Headquarters and it used to be open to the public. It was a wide, mostly paved path that went through the woods, fields and around a lake. The whole path was surrounded by sculptures from all different artists in varying styles.  I had loved going there with my mom as a kid and the boys loved it!

The Momma Bear symbolism is strong in this photo, for sure.

We had so much fun.  When I look back on this day, it encapsulates the feeling I had on so many fun adventures with my mom. We were present and soaking in all the goodness. We were laughing and appreciating the world around us!

Mikey's from behind, about to go up a little flight of stairs. Mimi in the background with open arms.
Arms wide open, welcoming Mikey, always.

Even now, as I have engaging, wonderful moments with my own family, it’s like there’s this cool little graffiti tag: “Mimi Wuz Here.” Her soul is etched on all the moments in which I am fully embracing my complex life, having fun, creating adventures, and sharing laughter.  What experiences will be tagged with your memory? You get to decide by how you choose to live.
