Max

Mikey watching Sonny pop one of the backyard balls, smiling as they stand by the pool. paw print stickers all around.
Max was always up to mischief, but Sonny is our true lovable menace!

When our first dog, a giant golden retriever named Max, was a puppy, we used to tease that he was a menace.  This was long before we had Sonny as a frame of reference and I am sure Max is barking at us from over the rainbow bridge asking for a more appropriate moniker…Sonny has definitely out-menaced Max.

journal entry from September 9 2014 page 1. "I played with my dog Max after school." photo of mikey watching Max chew the ball, smiling.
Dogs and kids playing outside after school is as American as apple pie.

At the time, Max got up to a good deal of mischief and gave us some good comic relief on a daily basis.

page 2. 'He popped the ball.' 3 cute photos of Mikey and Max posing together.
Mikey’s used to the mischief by now…he’s not too worried about it. LOL

Dogs are a ton of work, so if you’re already feeling overwhelmed, I don’t recommend getting one.  That said, they have been a wonderful addition to our family.
