Marble Run

stylized photos of mikey doing his marble run and two close-ups of the cool marbles.
Just. so. stinkin. fun.

Mikey needed help with this toy because you build it from the bottom up (obviously), but you need to make sure that the path of the marble consistently angles down from top to bottom or it won’t work.  Mikey and I accomplished this by taking turns putting on pieces so I could correct any issues as we built.

journal entry from Friday, February 27. 'My mom helped me make a marble run.' photos of mikey building the run and putting the marble in the finished run and watching it with a smile on his face.

As you may know, this kind of toy is one of my favorites because it takes collaboration and communication. Also, Mikey was rewarded with a stimmy, satisfying marble run which he could enjoy independently – sometimes for a solid hour.
