Library Time

Local libraries are still one of the greatest resources in our communities. They are usually inclusive spaces that offer kid-friendly activities…for free or a very low cost.

Our town had a children’s story hour every week and each week they did a craft.  I would accompany Michael, even though the typical kids did it on their own. I stayed just to make sure he was engaged, behaving well and had any extra help he needed.

Those experiences made Mikey really like the library so even if we didn’t have a scheduled class, we often went to the library to grab a book or a video.  That’s what happened on this night one decade ago in Mikey’s journal.

Mikey got a book we could read together and a Little Mammoth kid-centric documentary on the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree. So fun!
