Jumping on the Bed

stylized photos of Mikey jumping on the bed, so so happy
One little monkey, jumping on the bed.

Jumping is one of Michael’s most favorite things! It’s truly important for him, helping him get the sensory input he needs to settle his body. Mikey had a mini-trampoline growing up. He spent every moment possible at our local trampoline park: sky zone. We got a backyard trampoline too!

And, in Mikey’s world, no bed is safe from a good jump…to the point where I ended up putting his box spring and mattress directly on the floor to make it a bit safer.

Once his own bed was lowered, he got the message and stopped jumping on beds. Just kidding, he just started using our bed to jump. And just like that, Mom was outsmarted again.

Mikey's journal entry from December 3, 2013. Last night, I jumped on my Mom and Dad's bed! Photos of him happily jumping.
The kid is really catching some air!

I am still glad I lowered the bed in his room because I want his bedroom to be a safe place for him to be unsupervised during the night.  Although, truth be told…my mattress has never been the same.
