Joy and Grief

Anyone who has lost someone they love knows how much they would give up for one more hug. This holiday season, make time for hugs!!

Mikey is an excellent example of a person who hugs with reckless abandon! He is amazing at showing his affection for the people he loves. It’s wonderful that he could use his journal to share this with his friends at school.
It is still a source of sadness for me that my mom is gone and her Christmas visits are a thing of the past. But I look at these photos and it is so clear to me how joy cuts through grief. I cannot help but smile when I see these two having such silly fun together.
Her joy lives on in us and it keeps the grief at bay. Still, I miss you Mom and I wish you were here.
