Inside Out

The movie Inside Out personifies five emotions of a little girl named Riley as her family moves from Minnesota to California. Joy, Sadness, Fear, Anger and Disgust are actual characters, and we get to see them interact in her brain.

I love movies like this because I think they help our kids to understand emotions. In the movie, each emotion is important. Each one plays a role in helping Riley process the world around her.
Movies like Inside Out help our kids to see that all emotions are okay. We just need to manage the behavior that sometimes accompanies big feelings. We control our response to emotions so our actions can help solve the problems instead of creating more of a mess!
