Home for Thanksgiving

If your family decides to celebrate the holiday in a quieter way, that doesn’t mean your day won’t be festive and fun.

Decorate
First, put something out that makes your heart happy. Maybe it is one piece of art your child made at school. Maybe you pick up a little bunch of festive flowers at the grocery store. Maybe you light a candle or spray a festive air freshener.
The Kids
Give some thought to something they might find special. For Mikey, who is definitively NOT a pie guy, we make sure we get a chocolate turkey and a box of turkey cookies.

You Matter Too
Dave and I love having a fire in the fireplace and watching football on Thanksgiving. Do one thing that will make your holiday special. You could pick up a favorite dessert if the craziness of parenting is making your usual baking tough. Just make sure you care for the caregiver.
I hope your Thanksgiving is cozy, filled with love and completely drama-free.
