Hayride!

We hit all the Fall classics back in 2013! Pumpkins, leaf peeping, trick-or-treating and football were all features of our October that year. Other years, we barely got ourselves clean and dressed, we missed trick or treating and ran out of time to get pumpkins. Football is, was and always will be part of our Fall, since we can watch it on TV in our jammies. All this is to say, it’s all good! Your kids are going to remember all the love you gave them and the feeling of safety you provided, regardless of how many Fall classics you check off on your ideal list.

Our local gem, Stew Leonard’s grocery store, provided this day’s entertainment. The hayride rarely has a long line which is an added bonus. You take a quick ride around a field where they have big wooden painted versions of popular kids characters. The whole thing takes about ten minutes. Plus, if you are into picking out pumpkins and mums and cornstalks, the ride starts and ends right in their little ‘pumpkin patch’ where you can buy all of your Halloween goodies. If I recall correctly, the hayride is free.
If you look at the photo, Will is kind-of over it at this point (5th grade, okay, he was really and totally done with this kind of thing), but he was a good sport and went along with Mikey to point out all the characters Mikey might know. Honestly, the kid is a gem!
