Halloween Wars

Halloween Wars is a Food Network show on which teams of competitors (a pumpkin carver, a cake decorator and a sugar artist) work together to create huge, elaborate (mostly edible) Halloween-themed creations. It is great family fun!

A Journaling Tip
The journal can offer an opportunity to work on vocabulary. While watching the show, we might comment on one of the creations and say the word, “creepy!” Then, we helped Mikey add it to his journal. It fits perfectly and writing the word reinforces it in Mikey’s brain.
The Big Idea
Halloween Wars, and other shows that appeal to the whole family, are great options for some shared downtime. If your child shares it in his or her journal, you may find out that other families are watching it too!
