Halloween Books

We usually share Mikey’s journal entries ten years after he wrote them. That gives me the benefit of hindsight to share what was going on for him at that time with greater clarity…since so much of the autism parenting journey for me was uncertain. I thought maybe if I could share the thoughts I have looking back on these experiences, I could help provide valuable information for those coming along behind us.
Then, when Mikey didn’t do a journal entry for that day, I fill in with fun things like Tuesday’s Timely Tips to ease your journey and help you along the way.
Recently, I was looking through the journals and I noticed that last one he did before his long break (so the last one we would be using for the blog) is this one:

This book, Dracula’s Cat, is a book I have had since I was a kid. So, this week’s Tuesday’s Timely Tip is a 3-for-1 deal.
- I am a firm believer in books as family heirlooms. Save them and have your kids write their name in them and the year they loved them if they’re able.
- Check the local library for Halloween books! They’ll be displayed sometime soon.
- Start looking for Halloween costumes your child will wear. Get one early and let your child practice wearing it before the big holiday.
You’re Welcome, Friends. LOL
