Grow to Be

Escape from Gringotts dragon, blowing a plume of fire.
Some magical Wednesday Wisdom from the world of Harry Potter.

Our Wednesday Wisdom this week comes from one of my most favorite book characters of all time, Albus Dumbledore. He is the Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, featured in the Harry Potter Series.

The Hogwarts Castle at Universal Studios in Orlando. "It matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be." - Albus Dumbledore
Your little ones have so much road ahead of them. What will they grow to be?

Of course, we listen closely to the doctors who diagnose and treat our children.  We try to follow medical and scientific advice diligently to give our kids the best life possible.

But

I hope that in the back of your mind, you hold the idea that your little one is more than their diagnosis.  And, whatever struggles they face today, none of us know for sure what they will grow to be.

Will they be an inspiration to others? Part of a groundbreaking scientific trial? Will they be a best friend? A beloved brother? Will they inspire others with their determination and grit? Will their smile brighten the world around them?

As you work hard each day to keep them safe and help them learn, I pray that your load is lightened by the inspiring things your child may grow to be.
