Great Christmas Light Fight

Stylized logo of the Great Christmas Light Fight TV show, cartoon elf with lots of lights
I watch this every year and still have zero motivation to put up a single outdoor Christmas light.

I just did a search on mikeysjournal.com to find the other post(s) I had written about the Great Christmas Light Fight…and I couldn’t find one! I cannot believe it!!

journal entry from December 23. "We made a fire and watched The Great Christmas Light Fight. Photo of the fire in the fireplace and the logo of the Great Christmas Light Fight.
Using the photo of things that are harder to spell is a great strategy for journaling with kids.

The Great Christmas Light Fight is now available on streaming services and it is good old fashioned family fun.  Families across the country put on A-MAZING holiday light displays at their homes.  The judges tour around and see each display and at the end of the season, they crown a winner for the year.

I like this show just because it’s good clean fun…but…I would also add: the show contains lots of short, simple conversations about the decorations so it is also good for our kids.  Seeing real-time models of polite conversations (without the snarkiness and one-liners they would get in cartoons) is surely a good thing.  Give it a watch and see what you think. I bet you’ll be hooked!
