Great Books

WE LOVE THE LIBRARY!!! On the Mikey’s Journal website, if you put ‘library’ in the search bar, several posts pop up about everything from summer reading to the 100th day of school. Our post today is just about a typical school day. We stopped by the library to grab some books and we cuddled up at home to read before dinner.

Would you please look closely at the photo of Mikey on the couch with his books? You’ll be rewarded with our sweet dog Ruby peeking back at you from the other side of the big white blanket. Such a good girl!
“Great books” may be in the eye of the beholder here, but Mikey was loving his Alvin and the Chipmunks book and it’s tough to beat a book about seals for an animal lover…remember, if your kids are reading, their reading skills are improving! I was never too picky about the books themselves. That felt like a personal choice that I should leave up to my kids. After all, I wouldn’t want someone else to choose the books I read.
My big takeaway – any book your kid will happily read is a great book!
