Gratitude

Choose to make gratitude part of your daily life.

As we look ahead to Thanksgiving next week, my Thursday Thoughts turn to gratitude. On Thanksgiving Day, many families go around the table and say, “I am thankful for…” What a beautiful tradition!

Why don’t we do it all the time?  Could it be part of your tuck-in routine? If your kids are verbal, could they share one thing that made them happy that day?  Possibly, you can frame it for them. For example,  “I feel thankful that…” or “I am grateful for…”

If your child is not verbal, can you share your gratitude with them.  Wouldn’t it feel nice to end your day with Mom or Dad telling you how grateful they are for you? Even if they don’t understand every word, they’ll get the feeling of love you are sending them. They will know they are cherished.  What a beautiful gift to give them!
