Geese, Everywhere!

Now that I have been sharing so many details of our family life with you all, I sometimes forget what you already know. Just in case this important detail of my life has as yet remained private…I’ll need to let you know that I am terrified of birds! There is no traumatic moment I can point to as I search for the root of this totally irrational fear, but the fear itself is very real.
It could be the flapping, the pecking, the claws, the ability to poop on us from above, the bird diseases they carry, the way they can turn themselves into torpedoes to swoop down and snatch up prey. Birds really stress me out. They might as well be dinosaurs flying among us.
So, I present this journal entry as concrete proof that Mikey’s Journal is in fact, driven by Michael’s likes and preferences, not my own. I helped him with his sentences by starting them, and he finished them using the words that he could find to express his own thoughts. He chose the photos we would use and therefore, the topic of each entry. His journal showed his autonomy, even though he could not quite do it completely independently.

Otherwise, if it had been up to me, this memory would be long gone. Running through geese? Madness!
