Weekend Share

We share the journal Mikey kept, but we share it one decade later. This helps me to reflect on the parenting choices we made, and I hope it makes the blog more valuable to those who are currently working through their parenting journey.
At this stage, Michael was in 5th grade, and he was not getting as many invitations to be included in social events outside of school. We brainstormed with his teachers, and they suggested maybe Mikey could share what he was doing over the weekend. We thought this would reinforce his social nature and encourage kids to include him.

The Halloween party was thrown by family friends, and we all went together. Mikey shared about it when he went back to school on Monday…so….more to follow in a couple of days.
The Big Idea
People might assume that your child would be overwhelmed by a Halloween party…and maybe they would, but maybe (like Mikey) they would love it. Using the journal to share your child’s unique identity can help them find kids who would love to hang out with them.
Let your kids dance to the beat of their own drum, share it in the journal to help them find their tribe.
