Flu Shot

Talk to your own pediatrician about vaccine recommendations.

Since there is no photo with this journal entry, I’m guessing it was either a really quick in-and-out appointment or it was a tough one. Although I can’t remember, I do have a couple of useful tips that apply more generally.

Mikey's journal entry for 10/25/13. Last night, I got my flu shot. No photo included in this entry.
Gotta do it, even though it hurts.

Tips

  1. Consult your doctor about vaccines. Although no vaccines have been proven to cause autism, some parents are still afraid. Get the facts and ask your doctor about your child in particular, as opposed to reading things online that may or may not apply to you.
  2. We usually get our flu shots even earlier than this each year. You’re still protected throughout the season.
  3. Although many pediatrician’s offices offer drive through or large group vaccinations, it is also okay to call and ask for a private appointment if your child cannot do a drive-through vaccine or has trouble in large groups. They may be able to give you a smaller, calmer setting to get your child’s shot.
