Dishes Galore!

pop art style photo of Mikey with a green plastic bowl on his head, smiling and looking off to the side, lined paper with the exclamation, “SO SILLY!” in all caps

How in the name of all things holy are there SO MANY DISHES? Seriously! Every person in our household is pitching in, and I still feel like every time I turn around, there are more dishes in the sink. This is nuts!

journal entry from March 3: “I helped my mom do the dishes.” 4 photos of the dishwasher and Mikey putting away the dishes, centered around 1 photo labeled ‘SO SILLY!’ of Mikey with a bowl on his head looking off to the side. handwritten note from Mom “Michael, Thank you for helping me do the dishes! I had fun with you! Love, Mom"

At least we’re having some fun with it!

My Note to Mikey

My note on this journal entry was a part of my ongoing effort to show Mikey’s classmates that he is loved. Showing the world that your child is a fun, helpful part of your family is important. It lets them know that this little person is someone of value. Kids (and adults) pick up on this. And, in response, they will treat your child with greater respect.

This journal has been a blessing in so many ways! I could never have predicted all the positive impacts it would have. I’m so thankful we did it!
