Delegate to Technology

You can't do everything, so get yourself some help from technology.

When most parents think about technology, they wince.  Battles over access to TV, iPads, phones and video games are endless.  So, if technology taketh-away…does it also giveth?

Let’s start using technology to our advantage!

We can use alarms on our phones to set up structure to the daily schedule.  If you have a Roomba vacuum, you can program it to vacuum the house while you’re out at work or running errands.  I check into doctor’s appointments digitally rather than juggling the kids while trying to fill out paper forms.  We can create a shared grocery list to let our spouse (and any kids who are able) add what they need remotely. Even our vet has an app now – we can order our dog’s medications, and the vet will get them ready for pick-up to save time.  Instacart or door dash will bring things right to your door – not just groceries.

Make technology work for you so you can do the important things, like reading to your kids or going for a walk.
