Day Out with Aunt K
Instead of physical gifts, my stepsister loved to get the boys a “Day Out with Aunt K.” Will had been doing it for a couple of years and I had been holding back on having Mikey go. He was okay most of the time, but puberty was starting and he was more unpredictable. I worried I would be setting Aunt K up for a tough situation by sending Mikey out into the community with her alone.
So, even though Will’s days with Aunt K were just the two of them, K and I worked together to come up with a plan for Mikey to have a special day. First, I came along just to make sure Aunt K had back-up if she needed it, and to take photos, of course! Second, Mikey got to bring a friend that knew him well.
Mikey’s day out with Aunt K was a huge success! A good time was had by all!!
