Custom Coloring

stylized photos of solar powered halloween toys and an oversized coloring page that says Happy Halloween to Everyone surrounded by halloween drawings in black and white (phtoto shows Mikey's arm coloring on it with crayon)

J and his husband P lived upstairs from my mom and stepdad in their Branford condo.  They were great fun, and my mom loved them! J was an amazing gardener, and he made their backyard gorgeous! He was also a talented artist, and he made custom coloring pages! He was kind enough to make some copies for Mikey. He included artist sharpies and solar Halloween toys.

journal entry: "Mimi's friend J made me these coloring pages and gave me these toys. He's cool! photo of 3 solar toys: a Frankenstein monster, a pumpkin head witch and a ghost.
Mikey used crayons since this was not my first rodeo…no sharpies for this kid!

J has since passed away, but Mikey was right. He was super cool!

The Broader Message

For parents of kids with special needs, it means the world to us when people see our kids. The coolest of the cool folks do kind things like this. They reach out to us as parents and make our special kiddos feel loved. We will remember J as someone who made the world more beautiful and our lives more fun.

Thanks, J!
