Cooking Class

Recently in Mikey’s cooking class at school, he got to make English muffin pizzas. This is a great cooking activity for kids and people with special needs because the process is relatively simple: break the English muffins in half, spread sauce on each one and add some cheese.

When we do this at home, we add oregano. We like the flavor, but I also like to keep Mikey used to some spices on his food, so he doesn’t get fixated on them. We practice having visible spices on things so that Mikey remains open to it. That gives us many more options when we’re out in the world and not in control of food options.
