Chuck-E-Cheese

Where every kid’s a winner! Except us! But, we’ll get to that.
I decided to take the kids to Chuck-E-Cheese to celebrate the first week back to school. They both liked going and because it was a pretty small space, I could keep an eye on both boys at the same time, even if they wanted to play different games.
Dave must have been traveling for work because we went after school and I agreed to let them get pizza for dinner. As we sat down at the table, I snapped this happy picture and then we overheard one of the employees crying. It’s kind of like hearing an employee cry at Disney World…it just doesn’t happen. They’re always happy and enthusiastic.

It turns out, we were there on the day the staff was informed that the Danbury location of Chuck-E-Cheese was closing permanently. The news spread like wildfire and the staff were all upset. I did genuinely feel for them.
But Also
I just thought, wow…of all the days I could pick to do a fun outing with the kids…I choose doomsday. Just goes to show you, even with the best intentions, we all go down the wrong path some days. Oh well, I tried.

We take my 2 yr old autistic grandson to Chuck E Cheese in Orange, CT. It’s a win-win! Pizza is one of his favorite foods and he loves the chaos and noise of the games and rides (for the moment!)
We loved it too! Safe and usually very happy experience. Just my luck, we were there on the day they found out they were closing…you can’t make this stuff up!
