Camel Ride

No mom needed...my pal is with me.

Another great day at the zoo in the books! We have been to the Bronx Zoo as a family many times.  Mikey is comfortable there and knows what to expect. There are links below that share a few of our prior day trips to the Bronx Zoo.

Journal entry for June 20, 2014. 'I went to the zoo. I rode a camel.' photos of the big group of kids, mikey with a friend on the monorail, elephant, rhino, black panther, zebras and Mikey on the camel with a pal.
The Bronx Zoo is so big that we sometimes see new and different things each time we go.

So, it was time to let Mikey try something new.  He had been on camel rides with me and I knew he was comfortable with it.  His friend asked if she could go with him and I decided it would be safe for him to go alone with her.  He loved it and felt proud of his new adventure.

Most camel rides ask that the riders be quiet during their ride to keep the animals calm. If your child cannot reliably keep quiet, I wouldn’t chance it.

page 2 of June 20 journal entry. photos of a gorilla making funny faces, mom and baby gorilla, the kids touching a waterfall in the gorilla Congo forest, Will and Mikey drinking icees, Mikey on the bug carousel.
What a great day!

A fun day was had by all, and Mikey got to try something new!
